Sea Serpents

Alpha Predators of the Deep

Homeland: depths of the Aracor Ocean

Languages: Commontongue, Kelvimarian

Sentient snakes of the ocean, sea serpents are well-known for their sweeping fins, emerald or sapphire scales, and acidic venom. Although they are aggressive by nature, their fearsome reputation is exaggerated among the land races; most sea serpents keep to themselves, dwelling in the depths and preying on fish and whales. Attacks on Kelvimars or Tentakull are usually provoked by ill-fated raids on sea serpent dens. Since they lack affinity for both Deepmagic and society, sea serpents lead solitary and self-interested lives, meeting only to mate or to clash over territory. Since strength is considered the highest virtue among sea serpents, they tend to disdain all those less powerful than themselves.
