Kilanins

Sprightly Optimists of the Woods

Homeland: northern forest

Languages: Hapha, Commontongue, many others

Kilanins are little green lizards with frills around their necks. Known for their remarkable agility, cheer, and goodwill, these benevolent reptiles are capable of teleportation over short distances so long as they are not encumbered by physical restraints. Insulated in their idyllic forest home, theirs is a highly specialized society governed by elders and presided over by three wise leaders known as the Ghorphati. Among noble races, Kilanins are respected for their peacefulness, kindness, and order; otherwise, these lizards are generally dismissed.

Kilanins are named after their attributes and raised with good manners. They enjoy learning new languages, and many are fluent in foreign tongues. Criminal activity is almost unheard of within their society; banishment puts lawbreakers out of contact with the community, so most Kilanins retain remarkable innocence that occasionally borders on naivety.
