Dragons

Ancient Guardians of the Earth

Homeland: Desert

Languages: Drakon, Common

Despite their frequent misrepresentation in human legends as fire-spitting monsters, dragons are quite benevolent beings who rarely attack anything apart from animal prey. Their impressive size, brilliant wings, and golden scales make these great reptiles a sight to behold, while their ability to exhale a lethal electrical vapor deters most potential foes. In spite of their strength, most dragons prefer to live in the peaceful solitude of their volcanic territories, treasuring only a few rare interactions with the outside world. Yet dragons have been known to fight for the greater good when evil forces threaten the Twelve Realms, and their inclination toward righteousness and justice makes them longstanding allies of the Lightvian. In fact, it is the dragons' powerful breath, added to the forging process, that imbues the Lightvian's renowned weapons with their legendary purity, durability, and sharpness. In recent years, however, the dragons have grown increasingly isolated, and their ancient agreement with the Lightvian constitutes their only link to the rest of the Realms. Should calamity arise, the dragons' aid can no longer be relied upon.
